ART FIELD TRIP TO COLUMBUS

ART FIELD TRIP TO COLUMBUS- SATURDAY NOV. 5 TH .

Here’s what we’ll see:

Wexner Center- LEAP BEFORE YOU LOOK
Look Before You Leap is about Black Mountain College. This innovative college,

from 1933-1957, was a place for exploration, independent thinking, and creativity.

Many famous artists, writers and thinkers were part of this experiment in education.


Columbus Museum of Art Ronald Wimberly: 2016 Graphic novelist residency

Greater Columbus Ex.: Columbus artists including our own Janis Wunderlich.

The work of Rubin and Isabel Toledo: an artist and fashion designer partners

transform one of the galleries into an installation related to their collaboration.

The Sun Placed in the Abyss: “50 contemporary artists who explore the

relationship between photography and the sun.”

Their permanent collection.

Itinerary:

We’ll leave from the CFA parking lot at 10:30. Bring a box/packed lunch.

Wexner from 12-1:30

Columbus Museum of Art from 1:45-4:00.

Return to AU between 5:00 and 6:00 depending on students’ interest in getting

something to eat while in Columbus.

Costs:

Wexner: free with student ID

CMA: $8 with student ID

Some cash for snacks.
