AU Art Education major attends summer residency
Ashland University Art Education major Rachel Filichia, attended a two-week traditional painting residency this summer with Joshua Adam Risner at his Rabbit Hill Studio in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Risner is a 2012 Ashland University Art + Design Department graduate and currently serves as the Michigan State Capitol Artist in Residence and State Capitol Master Decorative Painter. Filichia is from the greater Columbus area and is one of the first AU students to benefit from Risner’s residency program. We can’t wait to see how this experience will shape Filicia’s artwork this upcoming year, and how that experience will impact her future classrooms. We are also excited to see how Risner’s residency program will benefit future Ashland University Art + Design majors. Photo credits -Rabbit Hill Studio.
