Flip Side Art Exhibition/ Senior Theatre Project Opens in Coburn Gallery on February 14.
The Coburn Gallery will hold two simultaneous exhibitions featuring the works from Ashland University senior theatre student Kim Lennox as well as a group exhibition titled “Eight by Eight -- The Flip Side” curated by local artist Ken Arthur. The exhibitions open on Friday, Feb. 14, and run through Feb. 23.
“Eight by Eight-The Flip Side” features eight regional artists working in various media to bring their unique perspectives to the gallery. Artwork on display will include collages, paintings, videos, and more. The exhibition will present work by collection curator Ken Arthur, as well as Jason Kaufman, Priscilla Roggenkamp, Dan Corrigan, Harry Melroy, Linda Chevalier, Keith McMahon, and Tim Gorka.
“A Costume Technician At Work” provides a behind-the-scenes look at the process that costume technicians use to make beautiful costumes for the stage. AU theatre major Kimberly Lennox will display three original costume designs from distinct time periods. The project display will include period clothing, wigs and makeup designs, along with photographs to document the design steps.
The Coburn Gallery will host an opening reception for these two exhibits on Friday, February 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., prior to the opening night performance of Ashland University Theatre's musical production of “Songs for a New World.” The reception is free and open to the public.
