Juried Student Art Exhibition Opens Thursday, March 13

The Coburn Gallery is pleased to showcase our student talent in this year's Juried Student Art Exhibition, March 13-28.  The opening reception will be March 13 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the Coburn Gallery.

This year's exhibition includes more than 100 works which represent the variety and skills of our art students. Expect a mix of paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, 3-D pieces, etchings, prints, and a variety of digital art projects including i-movies and animation projects. Most of the student artwork will be available for sale.

Artwork on display for this event was chosen from student entries by our 2014 Juror, Julie Elman, associate professor of visual communication at Ohio University in Athens.  All pieces are the result of supervised class work completed within the last 12 months.  Cash prizes will be awarded in the categories of Painting, Printmaking, Digital Art, Ceramics, Sculpture and Drawing. Additional awards include the Everett S. Caldemeyer Award, Best of Show, the Dean's Award and the Alumni Wink Award.  Gallery goers will vote for the People's Choice Award during the Opening Reception.  Award winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m. during the Opening Reception on March 13.

Gallery hours are Monday - Friday, 10am - 5pm, Saturday - Sunday, noon - 4pm,  The gallery is also open before and after Hugo Young Theatre performances.
